The Kind is an uncompromising response to the Swedish indie rock scene — alive with urgency, restless in spirit, and determined to carve out its own space. There is no trace of Kent’s romance or The Strokes’ retro nostalgia here. Instead, the band moves freely through intricate drumming, towering crescendos, and vast landscapes of fuzz and reverb, where raw, stripped-down vocals break through the wall of sound exactly when they need to.
Their self-titled debut album, 'The Kind', is both deeply introspective and strikingly cinematic. Shimmering guitars, precise rhythms, and a sharp melodic sensibility reveal a new clarity of vision for the band — each song unfolding like a distinct scene, yet all belonging to the same story.
