Charles Hayward: Time Being
Music for voice, drums and zigzag electronics
no clock, no zero,
3 electronic zigzags offset and switch in real time,
an element of risk, voice and human pulse,
solitary figure, sonic landscape in and out of control.
It’s this time now.
Drummer, songwriter, sound activist Charles Hayward was a founding member of the experimental rock groups This Heat and Camberwell Now. Refusing fixed identity and process over a 50-year career Charles has developed idiosyncratic attitudes and insights into a wide range of sound work, spanning improvisation, song, sound as sound, using order and chaos as creative energies.
