Caroline No is a psychedelic folk outfit that began in Melbourne and now calls London home. At its heart are the songs of Caroline Kennedy, brought to life through her long-running collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Ian Wadley.
Their music has been praised for its effortless confidence—songs that unfold with such ease and openness that listeners feel less like spectators and more like inhabitants of their world. Blending the melodic charm of classic Dunedin pop with the slow-blooming textures of freeform improvisation, Caroline No occupy a space that feels both familiar and strangely enchanting.
Lo-fi folk sketches, wandering melodies, and anti-folk oddities are threaded together with a playful, anarchic spirit. The result is a sound that is intimate, beguiling, and quietly unpredictable.
Caroline No have released three albums: No Language (World News / Students of Decay), Swimmers (King Crab), and Caroline No (Grapefruit Record Club).
