Over the years, Anna von Hausswolff has established herself as an artist of boundless and unpredictable creativity—constantly evolving, seamlessly weaving tradition with experimentation in ways that rarely feel expected.
With the pipe organ as her signature instrument—an ancient, breathing machine of sound—she has long explored the physical and emotional act of breath itself: drawing in, holding, and releasing. Sometimes this emerges as towering, doom-laden compositions; at others, as intimate, meditative pieces that feel almost suspended in time.
On her latest release, 'ICONOCLASTS', her sound shifts once more, introducing a brighter, more immediate energy without losing its depth. Produced alongside longtime collaborator Filip Leyman, the album unfolds as a sweeping, maximalist work—part ritual, part anthem—marking a new chapter in her music. It also features contributions from Ethel Cain, Abul Mogard, Iggy Pop, and Maria von Hausswolff.
