Pierre Guerineau is best known as one half of Essaie Pas, the duo that helped introduce Marie Davidson before her emergence as a solo artist. Under his alias Feu St-Antoine, however, he moves into more solitary and exploratory territory.
His debut album 'L’eau Par La Soif' creates a striking sonic world where acoustic and electronic elements are seamlessly intertwined. The compositions feel both precise and unpredictable, unfolding with a quiet sense of tension and control.
Still collaborating with Davidson but clearly on his own wavelength here, Guerineau makes music that refuses easy labels. As Boomkat nicely put it, it’s “a stunningly varied and layered masterclass in wordless storytelling”—basically, a film for your ears, minus the film.
